Below outlines the commitment expected of you as a delegate when attending training sessions organised by SEC, so that you are clear about your duties and responsibilities.

Pre-Session

As a delegate you are fully responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring that the session invite sent by the Training & Events Co-Ordinator is accepted and no other meetings are booked in for the same time. This ensures you as a delegate are fully engaged within the session.
  • If you are unable to make the session you MUST make the Training & Events Co-Ordinator aware at least 24 hours prior to the start of the session. We insist this to ensure we can correctly amend the session and open the space to someone else.
  • A combination of 3 no-show training sessions without an e-mail explaining the reason for non-attendance will result in an e-mail sent explaining that you will be exempt from attending future training courses within the training programme. We will also make your organisations member rep and executive aware of the misuse of the training offer. Your organisation pays a membership fee which includes a limited training allocation and no shows still cost the consortium money with our training providers.
  • If you have been advised that the session will come at a cost, you must confirm the payment at least 24 hours before the start of the session. We do have the ability to take card payments.

During the Session

As a delegate you are fully responsible for the following:

To ensure that your diary is free for the training day with no meetings booked during the delivery. The training will provide ample breaks for you to check e-mails, etc.

  • The use of phones should be avoided during the training unless an emergency has arisen. Please make the trainer or the Training & Events Co-Ordinator aware if you need to leave the session to take/make a call.
  • If the session is being held in a virtual environment, please do your upmost to have your cameras switched on for the entirety of the session. Of course, if anything does occur during the training which means you have to turn your camera off then this is not a problem.
  • Keeping to timings given by the trainer is imperative for the smooth running of the session. If for any reason you are going to be late, please make the Training & Events Co-Ordinator aware so they can forward this to the trainer.
  • Remain professional at all points throughout the training and be respectful of other delegates views and opinions.
  • Importantly, we ask all delegates to remain attentive and engaged throughout as we try to ensure our training sessions are delivered in an interactive and engaging manner.

Post – Session

As a delegate you are fully responsible for the following:

  • All attendees will be sent a feedback form to complete either at the end of the session or the following day. This ideally needs to be completed within 48 hours. If not, the Training & Events Co-Ordinator will send a follow up e-mail 1 week later to ensure this is completed. Feedback helps us shape better sessions going forward and provides our board confidence in us to keep re-investing in you and individuals in the sector.
