March 2021s Budget saw Rishi Sunak implement a range of initiatives to support the UK economy and employment market as we recover through unprecedented times as a result of COVID19. However of specific interest to our members and ourselves at the SEC is the extension of the apprenticeship hiring incentive until September 2021.
The programme was initially set up to support the employment of new staff on an apprenticeship. The original programme was due to end this month on the 31st March 2021. The programme allows employees a payment of £1,500-£2000 in support of new apprentice employments. Full details here
In yesterdays budget we see an extension of the apprenticeship hiring incentive in England till September 2021 and an increase of payment to £3,000.
This extension is welcome and we encourage any of our members whom are considering apprentices to review our 6 Housing Sector apprentice offers.
With our supported apprentice programmes you would now get;
- Access to pre vetted and Housing Sector Experienced Training Providers
- Support in finding candidates
- Eligibility for upto £3000 payment form Government on their apprenticeship hiring incentive
- SEC Sponsored first year CIH Membership for your new employee giving them access to further sector development and mentoring
