We gifted £5,000 to Chats Palace Arts Centre through our FOUNDATION fund. The funding went towards the continuation of their ‘Palace Club’. Their programme provides support to Hackney’s Elders aged 65+yrs.
From short term benefits around enjoyment of shared social events to longer term impact on mental health and wellbeing, they created the club to assist local Elders in challenging negative impact of poverty on their lives.
They hold weekly sessions that provides stimulating activities designed to tackle loneliness and improve fitness. This programme was started in 2018 and has proven a very essential part of their local people.

This month we received Chats Palace Arts Centre’s annual evaluation film. Working with local film makers the club create films summarising their experiences that illustrate the impact the Palace Club have with their local elders community. With over 100 active members and 30+ elders attending their sessions their core objective is to help this vulnerable community to feel more visible and cared for.
