In 2020 we launched our Foundation Fund. It’s part of our commitment to the communities we serve working with the housing sector, since then we’re proud to have donated over £317,000 to some brilliant organisations in the South East.
We’re pleased to say that the nomination window for the fourth round of funding is now open!
Nominated charities must meet the below requirements.
- Your financial request must range from £1 – £10,000
- The nominated charity name and registration number must be provided
- The nominee must be a SEC customer or supplier
The nomination window closes on 31 March at 16:00.

Q: Can I renominate a charity from last years FOUNDATION wave?
A: Yes, you can nominate the same charity or choose a new one, with no limit on how many years you can submit a nomination.
Q: When do we find out whether our bid was successful or not?
A: We’ll contact you in late April/early May to let you know if your bid was successful/unsuccessful.
Q: If our charity is successful, when will we receive the funds in our account?
A: Once all processes have been completed, you’ll receive the funds in June.
Q: What do you mean by 'SEC customer'?

Q: Can you give any advise on what to include in my submission?
Submissions are scored 1-5 on each question by our trustees. 1 being the lowest score, 5 being the highest.
When submitting your nomination check if you’ve covered the following:
- Have you explained the need well?
- Have you provided a timescale?
- Have you identified the full outcome?
- Have you provided evidence?
- Have you covered the how the grant will improve the local community?
- Have you provided a full breakdown of costs?

1 – Unacceptable response | -None provided
-Demonstrating a significant misunderstanding of the cause -Not meeting the criteria even to a minimum extent |
2- Weak response | -Meeting certain aspects to a minimum extent but fails in others
-Little evidence of ability to meet or deliver to the proposed criteria. |
3- Fair response | -Meeting the majority but not all aspects of the criteria
-Adequate evidence of ability to meet or deliver to the proposed criteria. |
4- Good response | -Meeting all aspects of the criteria
-Comprehensive, clear proposal demonstrating a good understanding of the criteria -Clear evidence of ability to meet or deliver to the proposed criteria |
5- Exceeds the criteria response | -Materially exceeding the criteria, through a creative or innovative response or where additional ‘added value’ areas have been identified
-Clear evidence of ability to exceed the proposed criteria |

We have established a panel of excellent Trustees who will evaluate nominations in April and our Business Partnerships team will contact successful benefactors shortly after.
