We’re pleased to welcome Gemma Forshaw to our Foundation Trustee Panel. As Head of Housing at Wealden District Council, Gemma brings significant experience in local authority housing and supporting rural communities to the group. We’re really excited to have her on board along with our other excellent trustees.

We caught up with her last week to ask why she’s looking forward to being a part of the panel –

Having recently graduated from SEC’s Next Generation Leaders programme, the chance to connect with colleagues outside of my usual networks was invaluable and I wanted to do more. This opportunity provides this but most importantly, is making a real difference to our communities through the projects funded. With a background in provision of homelessness, lettings and strategic housing policy, and more recently working towards decarbonisation of our Council housing stock, alongside operational tenancy services, repairs and maintenance, private housing and refugee resettlement, I have experience of most areas of local authority housing. My knowledge and experience of the needs of rural communities will, I hope bring added value to the panel.
