We recently helped long-standing member West Kent Housing with their direct award to Calfordseaden LLP. Building on a successful one-year collaboration, they’ve now been reappointed for a further three years.
The contract was awarded through the Structural Engineers Lot of our Consultancy Framework. Read on to learn more about the process.
When WKHA expressed interest in extending the partnership, we worked closely with both WKHA and Calfordseaden LLP to ensure a smooth process. Together, we developed a new fee proposal that reflected the terms of the extended appointment. To maintain transparency and compliance, we verified the correct Consumer Price Index (CPI) uplift alongside the consultant’s framework rates. After careful review of the proposal, everything was confirmed to meet the necessary standards.
The appointment was finalized with a direct award confirmation letter issued by SEC. Contracts were then prepared using WKHA’s standard consultancy agreement, covering the period from July 28, 2024, to July 27, 2027.
We caught up on Calfordseaden on the award
“Through our appointment for a framework with West Kent Housing Association (WKHA), via the South East Consortium (SEC), calfordseaden has been delivering comprehensive Structural Engineering services. Our services have encompassed inspecting defects within their housing stock, identifying root causes, and recommending further investigations or necessary remedial measures. We are pleased to be working closely with WKHA and continuing our partnership to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects.”
Chris Hughes, Procurement Partner at SEC
