We’re excited to share how we recently helped London Borough of Hounslow procure their Internal & External refurbishment through our Building Works Framework. After supporting with the tender administration Niblock Building Contractors was appointed to the contract. Read on to learn more about the project and it's success.
In 2023, the London Borough (LB) of Hounslow partnered with us to plan and deliver the procurement of their upcoming refurbishment programme. We worked closely with their team to design comprehensive tender documents and streamline the procurement process. Our Procurement Partner, Morris Williams, provided dedicated support throughout, guiding Hounslow from initial planning to final evaluations. Following a thorough procurement process, the contract was awarded to Niblock Building Contractors in May 2024.
Since its award, the contract has delivered significant successes, reflecting the effectiveness of the procurement strategy and the strong collaboration between all stakeholders.
Key project achievements include:
Effective Resident and Leaseholder Engagement – A dedicated Resident Liaison Officer and Site Manager ensured ongoing engagement with residents and leaseholders. Proactive communication helped minimize disruption and maintain a positive relationship with the community.
Transparent and Regular Communication – An open-door policy with the Site Manager encouraged resident participation and feedback. And, frequent updates fostered trust and transparency throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Strong Client-Contractor Collaboration – The partnership between the Lb Hounslow and Niblock was built on clear communication and a solution-focused approach. Challenges were addressed efficiently through cooperative problem-solving, ensuring smooth project execution.
Innovative Technical Design Contributions – The roof truss design was developed in collaboration with a structural engineer, backed by comprehensive surveys. The integration of Timber Conservation Windows alongside bulk and emergency lighting balanced functionality with aesthetics and safety.
Commitment to Health and Safety – Regular engagement with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) ensured full compliance with regulations and best practices.
Delivering Social Value – A local resident was employed through the project, supporting workforce development. Apprenticeships, work experience placements, and employability workshops were provided in local secondary schools. Team members actively contributed to sustainable eco-management initiatives, reinforcing the project’s commitment to social responsibility.
