London Borough Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF) approached us as they needed to appoint a consultant to help them deliver nine packages of external refurbishment works across the borough. After appointing Baily Garner to support them with the project, they then approached us to appoint a contractor to deliver the works.
We worked with LBHF and Baily Garner to facilitate a Direct Award to Axis. We identified this as the best route to market given their project requirements. In doing so LBHF benefited from access to our framework rates and enhanced specification.
The programme of works included refurbishments at nine residential blocks – including Ashchurch Park Villas. The coronavirus pandemic posed obvious challenges to the project – however a team returned to site in April 2020 after a resident liaison officer contacted each household to ask if residents were happy with the project restarting in their properties.
Accommodations were made for residents now working from home, as Axis’ on-site team agreed to carry our any noisy work at specified times. They also offered to stop work for a period of time, at the request of residents who had online meetings.
