Hill Homes are a small, London-based housing association with 65 homes. Their sheltered schemes give older people the opportunity to live in a home for life. They approached us as they needed to procure a contractor to carry out fire-related improvement works to Nuffield Lodge – a building with 25 self-contained apartments in Highgate.
We worked closely with Faithorn Farrell Timms (FFT) and Hill Homes to review and comment on the specification, quality questions and their price/quality split. We then prepared the tender documents for their approval.
We sent out an expression of interest to all the contractors on our Fire Remedial Works framework ahead of the tender launch a week later. From there we were able to understand how many contractors were interested in tendering for the works. Throughout the process we handled all the tender queries. We then facilitated the quality evaluations and tender interviews.
Once the tender process was finalised, SEC sent a tender report to Hill Homes on 15 November. Following their approval we then sent out Award Decision Notices to all tenderers. After the standstill period ended, the contract was awarded to AD Construction Ltd.
“SEC have facilitated us to procure this contract in a quick and compliant manner. The input provided by SEC has been professional and the outcome of the procurement enabled us to progress this work cost effectively. The input from SEC has saved Hill Homes many months in tendering this project and more importantly we received high quality guidance through the process that has enabled us to reach a good result from the tender.”
