LEARNING OBJECTIVE   

Understand the principles and practice of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). You’ll learn what the hazards are and how the system works. We’ll also set out the implications for decent homes and for inspections and maintenance programmes.

The session will be facilitated by Andrew Lavendar (Environmental Health Practitioner) from Lavendar and Wilson. We’ll cover:

  • The background of HHSRS
  • How the Rating System works
  • How to use the operating guidance
  • Deficiencies and Linking to Hazards
  • Making assessment and recording the score
  • Practical exercise and examples.
