This Lot covers the installation and maintenance of solar panel technology. It’s been split into four sub lots to accommodate a range of suppliers for both solar thermal and solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies.

Suppliers on this framework are MCS certified, accredited to Trustmark and registered Green Homes Providers. They are requires to include appointment and warranty documentation for all works undertaken.

What is the difference between solar thermal and solar PV?

Solar thermal and solar PV are types of solar panel. They both absorb raw energy from the sun and use it to create energy we can use in our homes. The important difference is that solar PV systems create electricity, whereas solar thermal systems are used directly to heat water or air. The two types of technology can be used in tandem or in isolation.

This Lot includes:

  1. Design & Installation of Solar Thermal
  2. Design & Installation of Solar PV
  3. Maintenance of Solar Thermal
  4. Maintenance of Solar PV

Both Maintenance Lots cover Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance. Successful bidders are able to undertake all services for PPM and reactive maintenance for the complete project. This includes all required:

  • Testing
  • Commissioning
  • Maintenance repair
  • Maintenance replacement of technologies and associated equipment
