Emma brings a wealth of experience from her nine years in Local Government, where she led the learning and development function for a large county council in the South East. Her work supported over 12,000 colleagues and external partners by shaping impactful programmes that fostered their development and organisational growth.
Now at SEC, Emma is excited to build on the success of our existing training programme, and ensure it continues to meet and anticipate the evolving needs of our network.
Her career began with the Connexions service helping young people into employment. And so Emma's especially passionate about how SEC can support the future workforce, and looks forward to strengthening our focus on investing in people and its long-term impact.
Before joining us, Poppy worked as a sports coach and mentor for a charity supporting children from financially struggling families. Her work included providing free hot meals, childcare, and active entertainment during school holidays. She also supported children facing academic challenges - whether due to learning disabilities, bullying, or difficulties with focus and task completion.
In her new role Poppy is looking forward to building a career, meeting new people, and developing her skills. She’s passionate about working for an organisation that prioritises purpose over profit and is especially excited about the variety her role offers - especially being out and about, connecting with different people each week.
Welcome to the team, Poppy and Emma! We're so proud to have you on board as great additions to our team.
