Home Group needed to appoint a contractor to carry out works resulting from their recent Fire Risk Assessments. They approached us to carry out a mini-tender from our Fire Remedial Works framework on their behalf.
The project included pilot schemes to each of their blocks to set the benchmark for quality standards expected. This also meant that any specialist contractors followed the correct mythology to achieve the high standards expected.
Project Successes.
- ENGIE successfully avoided delays by placing orders for the manufacture of the front entrance doors and the fire alarms due to long lead times.
- Whilst completing the pilot scheme in Folkestone, residents were taken through the step-by-step process of how the installation of the fire stopping works were to be completed. This helped them to fully understand exactly what was going to happen in their homes.
- At the outbreak of COVID-19 ENGIE immediately created a new set of Safe Operating Procedures. This enabled them to continue with the programme of works following the easing of lockdown.
- ENGIE completed the FRA cladding, balcony works, fire stopping and redecorations ready for a robust testing and commissioning phase in 2021.
