The UK Business Council for Sustainable Development (UKBCSD) is part of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). They’re uniquely positioned and work with member organisations across a whole spectrum of British businesses to develop impactful solutions to the most challenging sustainability issues. Learn more about them here – UKBCSD
At SEC we’re committed to influencing solutions to the challenges facing the Housing sector – sustainability and the drive for “Net Zero” is huge here. We’re already looking at how we can support our network through our Climate Research Group. By becoming Members of the UKBCSD we’re able to draw on insight from businesses leading the charge and raise the profile of challenges specific to social housing within the group.
Jason Longhurst, Chair of UKBCSD and Chair of our Climate Challenge Research Group said: “We invited South East Consortium to join UKBCSD, having looked at the great work they’re doing with their Climate Research Group and Knowledge Share. Collectively they are seeking to shape how we look at housing sustainability, including innovation, procurement and delivery. It gives a whole new meaning to smart construction and we are delighted to have them join our membership of influencers and innovators.”
We’re looking forward to joining their membership and contributing to the great work they’re doing. Watch this space – we’ll be updating our network as our partnership progresses.
