We worked with them to understand their requirements and then administered a mini-tender via Lot 1 of our Internal & External Building Works framework. We managed the tender portal for Thurrock, fielded any questions from tenderers and facilitated the evaluation session. After a successful bid, Axis Europe were appointed to carry out the works.
Thurrock Council required a new EWI system for the blocks which comprised of 500 homes. The previous cladding had reached the end of its lifespan. Before re-cladding could begin, Axis removed the existing panels and surveyed the walls and substrate of each building. This enabled their team to assess the structural stability of the blocks, identify areas required for repair and confirm the suitability of the chosen external insulation system.
Axis’ specialist team carried out the remedial and preparative work – fully in accordance with BS EN 1504. They then installed a Weatherby A1 Class Render insulation system. It provides greater thermal efficiency and weatherproofing for the buildings and is BS 8414 tested. Axis then decorated the EWI system with a Silicone render and matching primer, providing the towers with a fresh, attractive finish.
