A year ago we wrote to our Members to ask what most pressing challenges their organisations were facing. Building Safety – and importantly how to procure your building safety solutions – was consistently ranked as a top priority. In response we launched our Building Safety Research Project and are proud to publish our ‘Procuring for Building Safety’ guidance document this week.
The guidance document is a accumulation of many hours of collaboration between stakeholders from across our network – including industry leaders, academics, consultants, contractors and colleagues from Registered Providers all passionate about building safety.
They’ve developed a practical, easy to use guide which supports organisations to procure the right building safety outcomes. It’s split into six sections and is underpinned by four key principles: culture, compliance, competence and control.
The sections that follow the key principles focus on five areas:
The guide is clear, concise and easy to read. It’s been written for procurement professionals and anyone seeking advice on building safety.
It’s free to use and you can download the document here – Procuring for Building Safety.
Please share the guide across your organisation – it’s been designed by your colleagues with you in mind.
On a personal level this project has been great to be involved with as I have worked with some great people with fantastic knowledge and experience. I have learnt a lot through the whole process, and I am really pleased with how the report looks and more importantly, the practical content within it. I would like to thank all those who were part of the group, and especially the chair, Paul Nash for his wise guidance and insight.
We’ll be carrying on the research group into 2022 as we begin to promote the guide across our network and support customers to implement the process.
If you’d like more information please let me know.
