Visiting the Maidstone Homeless Care Day Centre

15 August 2025

Maidstone Homeless Care Charity

Earlier this year we proudly donated £10,000 to Maidstone Homeless Care through our FOUNDATION fund. The funding has helped ensure the continuation of their day centre, which provides essential support to vulnerable individuals in the local area.

Simone and Leone from our team visited the centre alongside representatives from Golding Homes, who nominated Maidstone Homeless Care for the funding. The donation is helping them deliver a wide range of services – including a food bank, mental health and housing application support, access to fresh hot meals, and the provision of new clothes.

The food bank offers more than just food. It supplies vital household and personal care items such as nappies, sanitary products, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies. For those who prefer to remain anonymous, the team can discreetly deliver food parcels to the door, removing the need to come inside the centre.

The day centre itself provides a safe and welcoming space where people can relax, read newspapers or books, and access the internet using on-site computers. It also serves as an emergency refuge from the streets, offering hot meals, laundry facilities, and showers. Beyond these immediate needs, the centre also hosts visiting professionals such as a nurse, hairdresser, osteopath, and mental health specialist.

Tom Casey, Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management at Golding Home - “Supporting Maidstone Homeless Care means a lot to us at Golding. They were nominated by colleagues as our charity of the year in memory of Sarah Norrington, a colleague we sadly lost last year, as the charity was close to her heart.

I had the pleasure of visiting the day centre recently and was struck by impact this local charity has, from providing basics that we take for granted – like food and showers – to helping people access vital services like health practitioners, housing advice and mental health support.

We’re really pleased to be able to secure this significant funding for them and know it’ll make a real difference.”
