We're delighted to announce that Jas Rai has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of South East Consortium (SEC). She'll begin the role in October this year ahead of our annual conference.
Jas’s career has spanned construction, engineering, technology and heritage – combining the delivery of major capital programmes with a strong focus on people, culture and organisational change. Most recently, Jas was Chief Operating Officer at the British Library, where she had executive responsibility for operations, estates, security, HR, technology, marketing and commercial activity.
Born and raised in Kent, Jas also serves as Chair of a Kent-based charity and as a non-executive director of a Kent training provider, reflecting her strong local connections and commitment to education, skills and community.
Her appointment marks the beginning of the next chapter for SEC, as we continue to support our Members and the wider housing sector with high-quality procurement solutions, training, and investment through our Foundation Fund.
“I’m honoured to be joining SEC at such an exciting moment. My career has always been about building strong organisations, developing people and skills, and delivering ambitious programmes that make a real difference to communities. SEC already has a fantastic reputation for supporting its Members and reinvesting back into the sector, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues, Members and partners to build on that success.”
Our Chair Joe Scullion said about the appointment, “We're really excited to have Jas join us to lead SEC through its next chapter of success. Her energy, her ideas and people-centred focus gave us confidence in this appointment”.
For those joining us, Jas will be at our annual conference on the 15 October at the London Stadium.
We look forward to welcoming Jas in October and to the next stage of SEC’s journey.
