Learning objective

This session will be delivered by Ed Swift from PAM Building. Delegates will understand the important role SVPs play in providing good sanitation in a building and why complete replacement may at some point need to be considered, as these buildings get older. By assessing the condition and identifying any potential issues early, a managed approach can be taken, rather than having to react and undertake emergency repairs, which can be disruptive.

Agenda

Here's and outline of the Agenda:

  • A brief introduction to Pam Building (manufacturer of cast iron drainage systems)
  • History of high-rise buildings and improvement work that has been undertaken over recent decades
  • Examples of issues found with the original drainage
  • Introduction to the modern replacement systems we manufacture
  • Explanation of how the old systems are replaced, using new preassembled pipes
  • Fire safety
  • Example case studies
  • Q&A

Who should join?

This session may be of interest to colleagues dealing with the issues caused from failing drainage, or anyone involved with the fire compartmentation (or lack of) around pipework etc within the riser areas.
